ABOUT THE PROJECT

Dance Across Chicago brings art to public spaces using live dance, music and technology. Audiences will experience uplifting and engaging dance performances featuring professional dancers and musicians, formed specifically for the outdoor performance space. Our August 18th performance will take place in two separate Chicago neighborhoods simultaneously, connected with livestream technology, to create a shared experience among Chicago communities.

The purpose of Dance Across Chicago is to engage audiences that may not often see dance, spark meaningful conversation among audience members, and build a bridge between neighborhoods that otherwise might not have the opportunity to interact. We seek to celebrate the diversity that makes Chicago so vibrant and inspire connection in our city.

This project is partially supported by an Individual Artist Program Grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events, as well as a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, a state agency through federal funds provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.
